Associate, Investment Professional

Position Overview:

Our client is a leading financial services firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate, Investment Professional to join their dynamic team this Summer (2024) and are flexible in terms of start dates. You will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and managing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Evaluation and Analysis:

· Evaluate potential investment opportunities by analyzing financial statements, industry trends, and market data.

· Conduct thorough due diligence, including assessing credit risk, market dynamics, and regulatory considerations.

· Develop financial models and perform sensitivity analyses to evaluate investment returns and risks.

· Building robust, flexible financial models to support deal underwriting and deal structuring efforts, as directed by deal team leads

Deal Structuring and Execution:

· Assist in structuring financing solutions tailored to the needs of middle-market companies.

· Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to negotiate terms, documentation, and covenants.

· Coordinate the execution of transactions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Portfolio Management:

· Monitor the performance of existing investments, including financial performance, covenant compliance, and risk factors.

· Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and investors.

· Proactively identify and address potential issues or opportunities within the portfolio.

Client Relationship Management:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, borrowers, and other stakeholders.

· Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, reporting, and updates.

· Collaborate with the business development team to identify cross-selling opportunities and expand client relationships.

Research and Market Intelligence:

· Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments.

· Conduct research and analysis to support investment thesis development and strategic decision-making.

· Share insights and recommendations with the investment team and senior management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation is a plus.

· 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, credit analysis, or a related field.

· Strong modeling skills are a must.

· Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.

· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of credit markets, debt instruments, and financial products.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software applications.
