Salary: $219,000.00 - $259,000.00 Annually

The Role

The Chief Financial Officer will provide direct strategic leadership and oversight to the Finance, Purchasing, and Information Technology functions. This position provides expert financial advice to leadership and exercises executive-level competence and judgment. The successful performance of the Chief Financial Officer creates the financial ability of the LVCVA to deliver operational outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, Coordinate, and Execute Short- and Long-Term Financial Strategies: Evaluate and advise the CEO and the organization on the financial impacts of long-range planning and the introduction of new programs, strategies, and regulatory actions.
    • Explore opportunities to improve revenue performance, develop new revenue opportunities, and protect and maximize existing revenue streams.
    • Provide recommendations on opportunities for expenditure efficiencies and optimization of financial outcomes.
    • Lead the continuous budget cycle by establishing schedules, collecting and analyzing data, recommending plans and strategies, and providing ongoing monitoring and feedback. Develop and execute long-term capital planning and related financing activities.
    • Ensure compliance with governmental generally accepted accounting principles, state and federal laws, and rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service, Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory and advisory organizations.

  • Deliver Great Departmental Service: Develop strategies and goals and oversee the service delivery of the LVCVA’s Finance, Purchasing, and Information Technology functions.
    • Lead innovative, customer service-driven, efficient operations through people, processes, and technologies.
    • Deliver operational results by scheduling, assigning, and following up on the work results.
    • Build a great team through recruitment, development, coaching, evaluation, and correction.

  • Positively Challenge Existing Processes To Become Better: Learn and understand the organization’s operations.
    • Explore opportunities for system and process improvements, maintain awareness of industry best practices, and methodically look for ways to innovate.
    • Manage people and processes through change.
    • Execute multidisciplinary organizational projects and strategies.
What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required; an advanced degree is desirable
  • Demonstrated performance in organizations of comparable type, size, and complexity, with professional-level management or executive experience
  • Proven results in the planning, issuance, and management of municipal bonds or comparable financing constructs
  • Demonstrated experience with rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service, Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory and advisory organizations
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to proactively address issues likely to impact LVCVA
  • Possess the following:

Strongly developed critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, risk assessment and prevention, communication, and leadership skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office products, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Experience in the design, implementation and management of enterprise resource and financial systemsCertified Public Accountant licensure is strongly preferred
