About The Role

We are seeking an analytically-driven Strategic Finance Software Engineer to join the Zoo team. In this role, you will support our team with codifying and automating financial and operational processes as we prepare for our next phase of growth. The right candidate will have a keen interest in optimizing business processes through automation, financial acumen with an ability to support financial modeling and analysis, and an understanding of technology company growth metrics.

What You'll Do

• Build, codify, and own financial and operational models to enable strategic decision-making, leveraging systems and automating workflows where possible
• Develop and architect the company's strategic decision-making operating system, integrating data from all aspects of the business into data-driven strategic insights
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and identify trends and/or areas of opportunity for the business
• Support Zoo's financial operations including tax filing, bookkeeping, and financial planning & analysis as needed
• Lean into support other engineering related projects as needed
  
  

What You'll Need

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Professional software engineering experience with an ability to automate or optimize processes through code
• Strong business acumen with financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills
• Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to be scrappy and roll up your sleeves to ensure success
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment with a high degree of autonomy
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with C++, Python and/or Rust
• Familiarity with SQL
• Familiarity with Git
• Familiarity with CAD
